As young people, we loved the charming old building with its cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The basic facilities were well-maintained, and there were plenty of seating options both inside and outside. The location was perfect for exploring nearby restaurants and taking leisurely walks. The free coffee and tea were a nice touch, and the luggage storage was convenient. The showers had excellent water pressure, and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was fast and reliable, which was great for staying connected. the style of the house and the lively area with nice bars and restaurants made our stay enjoyable.
We felt very welcomed during our stay and had no complaints whatsoever.

Convenient location, within walking distance to the city center and ferry building. Nearby restaurants and food shopping options. Free parking available.
The ensuite room had issues with the shower, as the warm water would run out within five minutes. The room was not ready on time for early check-in, causing inconvenience and discomfort.

Staff always polite, very helpfull; Yoga tent to relax. Staff takes good care for the pace.
Being aged between 40 and 50, we clearly belonged to the old ones. Cooking times in the kitchen can be chaotic.

Had a wonderful stay at the City Garden, our host couldn't have been nicer and repeatedly went out of his way to make sure our stay was the best it could be. Place has wonderful character and couldn't recommend it higher. If you're looking for a place to stay in downtown Auckland, look no further.

I stayed at City Garden Lodge for a few nights while backpacking through Auckland. The heritage home had a cozy atmosphere and the beds were really comfortable. The showers were hot and powerful, and there were plenty of comfortable seating areas. The kitchen was clean and well-maintained, and the temperature in the 10 bed dorm was just right. The social areas were great for meeting other travelers, and the long-term backpackers were friendly and welcoming.
Would recommend this hotel.

I had a peaceful and tranquil stay at a cosy villa in Parnell. The beautiful garden with chairs, sofas, and even a workout area was a good surprise. The tastefully decorated lounge added to the charm of the place. The location, close to nature and away from the noisy city, was exactly what I was looking for. Plus, the nearby Parnell shops and two beautiful parks were a bonus. Despite a few minor drawbacks like limited parking and a closed check-in desk, overall I had a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this budget accommodation for those seeking a unique and offbeat stay in Auckland.
